All right , it would be years before I ran into my Doctor, Amy’s Raggedy Man, but I did play a bit of hide and seek with some of the other faces in the meantime. Now, however my job was to go to school. I’d decided on Archeology , because I liked digging things up. Maybe I could dig up a good man.
The places that we went weren’t what I hoped. But fortunately for me, they did include time travel. Like Egypt 1936.
He was a doctor, but he didn’t care for his given name, Henry. We met on the way to Cairo. He was looking for an Ark. Well it wasn’t the right time and he had some company, so I left Henry Jones and headed deeper into the heart of Africa. I wanted to make a little money, and I had heard of some mines. Diamond mines and you know what they say . . .they are a girls best friend.
His name was Allan Quatermain, and he was an adventurer. I had read that he’d been there before. It didn’t end well, but this time he would have knowledge from the future. He was old and wiry, had quite a few wives, but so will I. At I least I plan to have lots of spouses.
So into the Mountains of the Moon, I had updated the old man’s map and he rather grumpily accepted that I had a better map and that no one wanted to find the source of the Nile – at least not when there were diamonds to be found. So we headed down a narrow path , maybe a road down through the hills themselves. The old man seemed to know where we were headed. I wasn’t so sure.
All I knew was something didn’t feel like the I was in the right time line. . .
